Inclusie werkt (niet).
Not a manual. Not a DEI checklist. A different kind of seeing — for anyone who feels that something's not right here but can't yet name it.

Charters signed. Trainings taken. Working groups set up. Awareness sessions. Charters signed again.
And still. Op vrijdagmiddag, in de meeting waar de beslissingen vallen, gebeurt er nog steeds wat er voor al die charters ook gebeurde. Dezelfde mensen praten. Dezelfde stemmen worden onderbroken. Dezelfde namen verschijnen op de kortlijst. Dezelfde nieuwkomers vertrekken na achttien maanden.
I'm writing this book because I'm done. Not with inclusion. With the way we talk about it. With the illusion that a well-meaning training, a nice report, an updated policy document actually shifts how we treat each other every day.
Ten years in meeting rooms taught me something: the problem isn't with the people. It's in the system we keep running every day. Often without noticing.
Voor leiders who notice their policy sits beautifully on paper but doesn't land on the floor.
Voor HR who reports on diversity every year and quietly knows that inclusion is the weak link.
Voor iedereen who was in a meeting room where someone said something that rubbed. And went home wondering whether they should have spoken up.
What sits under the surface? Which agreement, spoken or not, gets confirmed here every day? What mechanism keeps it all in place, even when everyone means well?
Not to score a point. To see what we rarely name out loud. Bias, fit, covering, employee silence, moral licensing, status quo. Not as jargon. As mechanisms you recognize once you know where to look.
And then, only then, the question of what could be different. Not from Monday. Not from next quarter. From the next meeting, Friday afternoon, at four.
A handbook for a better DEI strategy
An invitation to look differently at what's already there
Five tips for a more inclusive team
Scenes from real meeting rooms, mechanisms in plain language
A report on how bad things are
An honest look at how we treat each other every day
